Faileen was a great White Mage/Black Mage when Zircon was a Warrior/Ninja. As Zircon became a Paladin/Warrior, she saught the need to become more devoted to her healing powers and became a White Mage/Summoner.
Tephus started out like Syphus, as a Warrior. He began his training to become a Paladin in his early days.
Childhood:
Faileen given birth to Tephus and Syphus after nine months since Zircon became the leader of The Shining Knights of San d'Oria and a Paladin/Warrior. All four of them lived in what is now the Orc base of operation, Davoi. When they lived there, it was a peacful, bustling Elvaan town. The Daro family was one of the top aristocratic families in this town due to Zircon being the leader of The Shining Knights. Even tho the beastmen lurked about in the shadows all across Vana 'diel, the people of the town felt safe due to their town being the encampment of The Shining Knights and a stop for major San 'dOrian diplomats that are passing by to the Grand Dutchy of Jeuno.
Syphus and his family lived in a mansion with many servants made up of many races excluding other Elvaans. Syphus got along with the servants, much to Zircon's disliking. Tephus on the other hand was much like his father, untrusting of the sevants and seen them as nothing but dirt. Tephus often targeted one of the servants that was one of Syphus' dearest friends, her name was Sireena Windsheer Quilivin, a mithra. When Syphus tried to protect Sireena from Tephus' constant teasing and belittlement, a sparing match always occured. Syphus and Tephus were evenly matched and the matches were only won when one of them tripped up or let their gaurd down. Faileen would always intervene when she seen this going on and she would not let Zircon tear Syphus away from Sireena, saying that it is good for their children to interact with other races.
However, this peacful town became the target of the beastmen under the control of the Shadow Lord. The attack came on Firesday, during one of the stormy nights in the Jugner Forest area. The attack started when a fire arrow was fired from deep in Jugner Forest and struck one of the Elvaan gaurds. The alarm was sounded and The Shining Knights scrambled together. Zircon gave out a Warcry and the Shining Knights poured out the front gates to meet the onslaught of the beastmen horde. The horde was made of mostly Orcs, who hated the Elvaan. The battle raged firecly with the clashing of swords, the raining of arrows, and the loud thunder of the storm. It seemed that The Shining Knights were winning and all but the Orcs were retreating. Then a winged, tan-colored, one-eyed beast, called an Ahriman, appeared began chanting a spell. Zircon knew what this meant, and he called forth that all Rangers were to target and take out the Ahriman. It was too late! The Ahriman was able to put up a force that blocked all attacks. Discrouage and worried, Zircon ordered that the town to be evacuated immediently. As the people were being evacuated, Zircon ran towards the Ahriman to confront it. The Ahriman stopped chanting and red rune circles appeared all over the ground. Demons started rising up from the arcane circles holding either a scythe or a sword in their claw-like hands. Zircon quickly struck down the Ahriman so that no more demons would be called. Zircon knew, however, that him and his Shining Knights alone could not stop the demons in their present state from the first onslaught of the beastmen. With dispare and hatred in his heart, he gave the order to the Shining Knights to retreat and he ran to the town to make sure his family got out safely. The demons made their way into the town and all the townspeople were running, trying to escape a horrible end. Faileen used her summoning powers and summoned Fenrir to aid in her family's escape when she heard of the evacuation. They were eventually cornered by the demons. Faileen and the servants took up arms and attacked with all their might trying to protect the children. Zircon finally found his endangered family and ordered the knights with him to attack and protect his family. Altana smiled on the Daro family that night and the Daro family was able to escape with their lives. During the escape, Syphus and Tephus were bearing deep cuts into their arms from the Demon General. The cuts glowed a dark aura and inflicted much pain and agony on the brothers.
Retreating from the devasted town, they entered La Thiene Plateau, making their way to San d'Oria. As they walked, after resting up, they passed the Crag of Holla and encountered a feared and highly respected Ram that roamed the La Thiene Plateau. Bloodtear Baldurf stood in their way, becamed enraged at the sight of intruders in his territory and attacked the tired group. All of the servants either died or were seperated during the evacuation, so only the Daro family and a few Shining Knights made up the group. Zircon, already not in the mood for Bloodtear's assualt called forth INVINVICIBLE and met Bloodtear head to head. The other knights joined in and Faileen stood back and healed the group knowing that this battle would be won with casualties. With the Zircon's effect of INVINICIBLE fading fast, the other knights called forth their strongest abilities. It was not enough, the beast was winning over the Shining Knights. Syphus and Tephus, clutching their wounds, watched as their Father's comrades were falling. As their raged grew, so did the dark aura and pain of their wounds. Their mother turned to see her children being surrounded by the dark aura and ran to them. The brothers exploded with a dark energy that stopped Faileen in her tracks. She fell to her knees in the sight of how her darling children were changing. They changed from adorable elvaan children into dark blue skinned, red-eyed creatures of the netherworld. Bat-like wings sprouted from their backs and a weapon form in each brothers hand. Syphus held a Scythe while his brother held a Great Sword. Bloodtear Baldurf threw their father against a tree, and in Zircon's fading sight seen only Syphus, or what kind of creature Syphus had become and fainted. With their explosive energy, they flew towards the enraged Ram. The brothers flew all around Bloodtear Bladurf, giggling and cackling, making the beast more enraged and confused. Then they started slicing at the beast's hide, making bloody gashes all over its body. Then the demonic brothers stood back to back in front of the bloody Bloodtear Baldurf with the ends of their blades touching the ground. With their red eyes they glared at the injured Ram, and with their hands that were free, stuck them both up to Bloodtear, emitted a red aura, and let out a scream that would shake even Ifrit's Cauldron. A dark energy unleashed from their palms and blasted the great beast, sending Bloodtear flying over the Crag of Holla. The brothers turned to their sobbing mother, and regained their sanity. The red faded from their eyes, and as only demons can, cried tears of blood. They regained their elvaan child form, and being exhausted from the overwhelming power, fell down unconcious.
When the two remianing Shining Knights and Zircon regained conciousness, they picked up the children and made their way toward San d'Oria. Zircon knew about Syphus, but was ignorant of Tephus. When they made it to the gates of Southern San d'Oria, Zircon told the Knights that gaurded the gate, that the encampment of the Shining Knights have fallen to the beastmen.
